BONJOUR MERHABA HELLO
Our Turkish and French students have been very busy with the Languages Day preparations.
Languages Day celebrations were a day to remember. We had various performances from students to showcase their knowledge of languages they are learning at school. We also had international food sale. We thank all our teachers, students and parents who helped us make this day very special.
In our upper primary classes, students have been engaged in learning different cultures, how describe locations , houses, sport activities. We also made some beautiful Mother’s day cards. We are continuing the term with their assessments in each grade.
Arabic
Languages Day celebrations
Year1 Arabic students have been very busy with rehearsing an Arabic numbers song, ready to perform at the Languages Day.
Students have been engaged in learning about cultures from around the world and making some beautiful Mother’s day cards – practising both their spoken and written Arabic skills. Students have enjoyed all the hands on, kinaesthetic activities - especially forming Arabic letters with playdough.
It has been a wonderful term of language learning and the students are becoming pleasingly confident and proficient.
RV Corner
Dear Students, Parents & Guardians!
Primary students have been busy with salawat recitation in order to reach 1 million salawats. They have started at the end of term 1 and continued in term 2. Their dedication and commitment was worth to see. Our eager students have shown us that 1 million is not enough for them as they have recited over 5 million salawats.
Well done everyone!
As next, in term 2, we are learning about the five pillars of Islam. Let’s reflect on the five pillars of Islam:
Lastly, Ramadan is approaching and we have already started decorating our school for Ramadan. There will be lots to see and explore. Just wait until Ramadan!

Ramadan Iftar Program
The month of Ramadan, which is a special time full of blessings and great wonders, is approaching fast. We organize iftar programs with our students as part of the school’s pastoral care activities. The purpose of these programs is to provide opportunities to expand friendships and elaborate understanding of the meaning of Ramadan.
Wishing you all a blessed Ramadan 2017!
LIFE IS LIKE BAKING A CAKE
A little boy is telling his Grandma how "everything" is going wrong. School, family problems, health problems, problems with friends, etc.
Meanwhile, Grandma is baking a cake. She asks her grandson if he would like a snack, which, of course, he does.
"Here, have some cooking oil."
"Yuck" says the boy.
"How about a couple raw eggs?"
"Gross, Grandma!"
"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?"
"Grandma, those are all yucky!"
To which Grandma replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!
Our lives work the same way. Many times we wonder why we would go through such bad and difficult times.
But when putting these things all in order, they always work for good! We just have to be patient and, eventually, the bad experiences will all make something wonderful!"
Music
Music classes for primary
It never ceases to amaze me how much the students have learned. Last term many primary grades focused on composing music. This term many classes have been focusing on reading music or transposing music. It is a pleasure to teach primary and see all the smiles and hear the laughter amongst them.

Music club is always busy with primary aged students and bursting with music. Many students have become very comfortable with composing their own music. The drums are always a big success with many children lining up for their turn.
